Owned & maintained by volunteers from the Rakiura Hunter Camp Trust. It was funded & built by members of the Taranaki, South Taranaki (funded $5000) & Southland branches of the NZDA in June 2001. Builders were Rob McGregor, John Wells, Alex Reeves, Mike Webber, Rod Rayner, & Colin Machrae, with assistance from Ray Phillips & John Bonn from Southland. It was upgraded in 2016 with the addition of aluminium doors & lining of the interior (see photo). $30.00 per person per stay (10 days max stay). Booking required. Edit Hut
