Notes
Built in 1995-96, this hut replaced 'Little Wanganui Hut' (Belltown Hut No. 2) which was located on the true left, 400m upstream at Specimen Creek. Having been built on an old slip from the 1929 earthquake, the foundations under the northern corner of the hut were being eroded by subterranean water. Following a substantial geotech assessment, Feb., & March, 2022, saw a crew from Ultimate Descents break the hut down & relocate it onto a new building platform at a new site, downstream, near the Lawrence Stream confluence, where it is known as 'Belltown Manunui Hut No. 4'.
