Notes
Built in the mid 1970's, this is the second Blyth Hut. It is sited on the ‘Old Blyth Track’, which was the main bridle track prior to construction of the Ohakune Mountain Road. Early May, 2022, saw Gary Macdonald & co. re-roof the hut under the Kaimahi for Nature programme. The first Blyth Hut [see Blyth Hut (old)] was built in 1922 & burnt down in 1975. The summer of 2023-24, saw a team from Red Stag Timber prep & paint the hut in Dulux Pioneer Red. Edit Hut

Two separate bunk rooms. Great view to Mt Ruapehu when it revealed itself from the clouds.

Great hut. Spacious with two rooms and a central area. Fire is very effective.
