Originally built in 1983 & used by NZFS & DOC staff respectively, in the Wharfdale Saddle area, before being relocated by DOC to its current site in 1992. The photo of the biv on the bushline is where it was left whilst the track back to Mt Thomas was cut. It was then relocated to its final site, where it stands today. Edit Hut

No water nearby in December, although a note in the hutbook states it can be found after a bushbash to the next little creek by continuing in the same direction.
