Jock Fisher organised the building of this hut in October, 1958, & it was originally known as Top Matakitaki Hut (NZFS 397), later renamed Bobs. It was one of the first attempts by the NZFS to build a 6-bunk hut. It is 400mm longer than what became the standard 6-bunker, the S70. Bobs was converted to an 8-bunk hut in 1987 & a porch added. It was built on-a-shoe-string budget & some of the cladding is flattened kerosene drums. It was repainted with the help of volunteers in the summer 2012/2013. In September, 2020, it was re-roofed, repainted, & a woodshed & small deck built by a team led by Tim Marshall. Edit Hut
