Built between 1902 & 1906. It once marked the boundary between the winter & summer grazing blocks on the former Hakatere Station. Firewood is extremely sparse. Late October, 2023, saw NZDA Ashburton branch volunteers replace the ridge capping & suntuff clear light. Edit Hut

Thanks to Deerstalkers association for fixing and maintaining the hut. Good water. Litlle firewood. Nice walk or mountainbike ride
