Built in the early to mid 1980's by NZFS, it was one of the first huts built as part of NZ's Walkways system across the country. Mid August, 2022, saw the hut spruced-up by DOC's Te Anau staff, led by Heritage & Visitors Ranger, Luke Bovill. They refloored the hut, relined the walls, stained some timber & bunks, replaced the veranda, painted the exterior walls, repaired the water tank & greywater system, & built some new seats. Edit Hut
