It is owned & maintained by the Mackenzie Alpine Trust. It is an old musterers hut originally built in 1898. It burnt down but was rebuilt & it is still in its original condition. There is a recommended donation of $10.

Fireplace didn't work when we were there (29/03/23) Everything froze overnight too. (Shoes, waterbottles... INSIDE the hut)

Beautiful old hut, plenty of firewood and a good hot fire.
