Notes
In Robin Quigg's dissertation, 'Back-Country Huts: More Than A Roof Over Your Head', it states “it was an 8" x 8" structure built 1956 by the NZFS & West Coast NZDA. It was pre-cut & flown in, then lengthened in the early 1980's to 16" x 8". It had few windows & narrow, uncomfortable bunks. Burnt down about 1993. Edit Hut

I've visited the site post destruction of the hut. We heard it was deliberately burnt down. Rochfort Basin is a magnificent place!
