A B55-type biv, built in 1960 by the NZFS, led by Noel Lilly, with assistance from Bill Johnson & Colin Nelson. It originally had two sleeping platforms which have been removed. In Feb., 2019, 5 Permolat volunteers led by Rob Brown overhauled the hut replacing rotting framing & bracing, they installed a double-glazed window. They installed a new roof, ridge-capping, barge flashings & internal ply linings before finally painting the exterior. Late March, 2019, saw Mike Lagan & Jeff Hitchcock repile the biv, add a stainless steel bench, & belt-sand the floor, before sealing it with two coats of polyurethane. Edit Hut
