Built around 1916 it was once part of Fairlight Station & used by musterers in the 1920's during the autumn muster. Teams travelled up the Mataura Valley to Beech Hut & sheep were then driven over the steep terrain to the 'Dog Box' & the flock was then driven down the Eyre Creek & back across to the Mataura Valley. The names of old musterers are etched into the chimney & there are more stories on a panel inside. This historic hut is fragile & tiny with a very low stud height. Overnight accommodation is not permitted. Edit Hut
