March, 2022, saw multiple volunteers from Permolat Southland overhaul the hut. They completely stripped it back, rust treat the historic Dexion frame, installed ply sarking & building paper, & reclad the hut. They partly-enclosed one end of the veranda, renovated the toilet & fireplace, & built a stand-alone woodshed. Edit Hut
