Built in 1964 by the NZFS, extensive maintenance was completed by volunteers, led by Richard Janssen, in May, 2019. They repaired the fireplace, installed a new food bench, removed the lead head nails, replacing them with by tek screws, & they undertook some track clearance. The exterior was painted rescue orange in 2021. There is a squat toilet above hut. The biv was knocked off its piles in a mid 2023 flood & the biv has been removed for a short time. Edit Hut
