Notes
Built in 1934. The original materials were taken to Hooker Hut using packhorses & from there, on the backs of guides Mick Bowie, Vic Williams, Percy Williams & Felix Harvey. The builder was A. Leechy of Timaru who was assisted by Mick & Vic, with the latter two gentlemen naming the hut after Katie Gardiner, a well-known English climber they had guided over several years. It was replaced in 1977. Edit Hut
