Notes
Built in 1957 by the NZFS, it was hut # 403 & a Nelson NZFS design. One of the air-dropped loads was lost & it was built a bit smaller than the others built around the same time. Under the Kaimahi for Nature programme, March, 2022, saw Tim Marshall's 'Ultimate Descents' team overhaul the hut. They replaced the roof, ridge capping, barge flashings, added a chimney cap, installed some guttering, improved the drainage, re-framed a window, re-painted the exterior, & removed the attached woodshed, building a stand-alone one nearby. The hut used to be / still is managed by the Buller Tramping Club. Edit Hut
