An old miners hut from gold mining in the depression. Recent work seems to have been done as the chimney has been resurrected & the hut is fairly tidy inside. There are no mattresses & the bunks are pretty flimsy. There are gaps between the stone of the walls. You'll need to bring your own firewood. Wouldn't stay here unless you have to. Edit Hut

No water in the little stream. There's a nice mattress there, protected in a plastic bag. The other bunk is for a child. We moved on to Brown Hut for the night.

Similar manuka structure held together by number 8 wire, and riveted rusted steel panel wall cladding as the nearby Brown Hut that was built in 1949.
