A standard NZFS SF70 with mock weatherboard iron cladding in-lieu of the usual flat iron (a common feature of Nelson Conservancy huts). Feb., 2016, saw the hut repainted, the springs on the bunks replaced with 21mm ply, & a porch awning, shelf, fire mantle & hut book holder constructed. The toilet lintel was fixed, coat hooks installed & a new drying rack constructed. John Taylor & Dave Guppy from DOC, completely overhauled the open fire in late May, 2021. In Feb., 2024, Ben Piggott & Mike Detlaff from DOC Hokitika did some roof repairs, rodent control & vegetation clearance around the hut. Mid Feb., 2025, saw 3 volunteers led by Andrew Barker, extensively trim the whole track & open up a couple of old river-to-bush transitions for when the river is up. Edit Hut
