Notes
The gable-type biv was built in 1960 by the NZFS. At one point-in-time there used to be two biv's located on the pass, including a round one (see photo). Christmas, 1979, saw the biv washed of its foundation & shifted to a new site by pilot, Colin Tuck, where it has sat on bearers ever since. November, 2023 saw Scott McDonald, Pete Sinclair & John Hutt put the biv on proper piles, well clear of the ground, & re-attach the tie downs. The open fire from the gable-type biv was removed in 2003. Edit Hut
