Built in the early 1950's by Ray Clelland of the National Park Board to house deer cullers. It was a 2-bunk corrugated iron hut in the beech forest near the forks (junction of east & west branches of the Hawdon River). By November, 1969 it was falling into serious decline with moss-covered rotten boards beginning to fall down. The hut was removed in late 1971 & large trees now grow where the hut once stood.
