Notes
The second of four 'Heaphy' huts to have been built in the vicinity. It was built in 1928 by Jack Harvey & Jim Rhodes for the Buller County Council. It was eventually replaced in 1968 by 'Heaphy Hut No. 3'. 'Heaphy Hut No. 2' was not initially demolished, rather it was refurbished to provide accommodation for staff, before being officially removed in 1983. The hut is named for Charles Heaphy. Edit Hut

Pretty sure this was used as the staff hut right up until the latest version was built.
