Designed by Robin Cox (Chief Ranger) & Mario Geremia, it was built in February, 1980, by Hans Kolinko & Mark Hunter of the NZFS, with the assistance of the Bush Tramping Club. March, 2022, saw the hut get a major makeover by multiple volunteers, led by Steve Wilman. They replaced the roof, purlins, sarking, fascia, sky-light, ridge capping, flashings, ceiling, rear wall cladding, spouting, internal linings & trim, door, deck, flue, fire shield, & woodshed. They painted the exterior & interior, & scrubbed-barred the heli-pad & hut surrounds. Edit Hut
