Built around 1909, it has an earth floor & is a small, 3.5m x 2.5m hut, built out of corrugated iron, over skillfully constructed, split willow / poplar framing. The hut sits on wooden piles & its exterior is painted in red oxide. There is a single window in the north wall & the T & G door is at the eastern end of the hut. It is situated amongst old willows on a lower river terrace at Horse Flat, 4-5 kms down the Clarence River from the main station buildings on Quail Flat. The chimney has gone & as of March, 2022, the canvas that once covered the split timber bunk frames, is no longer present. Edit Hut
