Notes
Built in the 1960's by the NZFS. It had an open fire, which was removed & replaced in the 1970's by a woodburner. In 2004, DOC replaced some of the framing, a section of floor, the skylights, the flue, & repainted & resealed the hut. In 2013, DOC replaced the woodburner with a smaller little cracker burner, which although more wood-efficient, is rumoured not to have the same ability to warm the hut as the original did. DOC have since replaced the water tank & repaired the slats on the bunks. Edit Hut

Hunts Creek track has a bit of everything. Budget more time than you usually would for an 11km walk
