Notes
Named after ex Internal Affairs hunter & Protection Senior Forest Officer to Environmental Forestry overseer Southland: Otago conservancy, Max Kershaw. The hut was on Glen Lyon Station & utilised for hunter accommodation as a base for field equipment. It was accidentally burnt down as the fire screen was left of the fire place. Its demise was reported by hunter, Murray Stuart. The next day, Lex Perriam, Paul Hondelink & John Fleming took 1200 feet of hose plus a wajax pump to make sure the fire was out completely as strong winds were predicted. Alot of other hunter’s equipment was destroyed in the fire, including Alan Hunter who lost a considerable amount of personal gear. Edit Hut
