Built in 1976 by NZFS Woodville's Glen Johnstone (ranger), Bruce Julian (headman), John Mason (trainee ranger), Stewart Waldman, John Butler, Gary Downes & Nigel Woods. Between 1982-2000, volunteers led by Dave Seatter & Malcom McNair helped maintain it. Labour weekend, 2024, saw a team of 6 BCT volunteers, led by builder Gary Macdonald, replace the roof, ceiling linings, cladding, tank stand & tank. They removed the corner cupboard & fire alcove, dug a new toilet hole & cleared away the horopito. Waitangi weekend, 2025, saw BCT volunteers replace the hut anchors, wood burner, toilet, & gutters. They painted the interior, varnished the floor, flashed the roof, cladding, windows & pest strip, built a wood shed, & replaced damaged ply linings & flooring.
