Notes
Originally built in 1970, it only had 4-bunks & an open fire place. In 2012, it was removed & completely overhauled by DOC Renwick, with the addition of 2 more bunks, before being reinstated in April, 2012, at Lake McRae. The open fireplace has been replaced by a wood burner. It cost $40,000 to remove, overhaul & reinstate the hut. Edit Hut

There was no water running close to the hut so I went a bit down valley past the toilet, dog kennels and horse paddock to where a spring emerges from a bank. There's mint growing here too.
