Freely accessible via the Cluden Station & Lauder Station easements for non motorised visitors only. A permit is required for 4WD vehicles. Very basic hut of Dexion frame & corrugated aluminium cladding without windows. Nicely renovated by DoC & in a superb location by stream. Edit Hut

Three bunks but only two mattresses. Not really four star accommodation but quite cosy. For those who prefer their huts without windows.

I was expecting it to be a bit of a fridge in June but mercifully it has a plywood ceiling and hopefully some insulation above that. Our water didn't freeze overnight in the hut.
