Notes
This was the second of three 'Midway' huts. It was originally 'Kanihi Hut (Te Aniani Hut)' in the Whakatane River catchment. It was built in December, 1965, by Peter Stainbridge (carpenter) & Phil Tucker, before being relocated in 1979-1980 as the successor to 'Midway Hut No. 1'. This second hut stood until it burnt down in reportedly suspicious circumstances, in mid March, 2016. This second hut was replaced by 'Midway Hut No. 3 (Spurs Hut)'. Edit Hut
