Built in 1960 (though some reports suggest 1967) by the NZFS, it was one of the last of the NZFS two-person B49 designs with a flat-iron roof. DOC replaced the piles & roof in 2004, & Ted Brennan & Annie Hughes rust-proofed, painted & sealed the biv in April, 2019. Thanks to Dulux it is now coloured 'rescue orange'. The access track was recut & remarked by DOC in March, 2018. Edit Hut
