Built by the NZFS in 1963 and was originally a standard S70 6-bunk design with an open fire. This was NZFS hut #506. It was extended & renovated by DOC in 2012. Edit Hut

Met a lovely South Island robin near here!
Was tempted to bivvy in the ruins as they still afford some shelter!
