Built in 1968 by the NZFS. At the end of Feb., 2020 volunteers re-roofed the hut, painted it inside & out, constructed some steps up to the hut, & established a tenting area beside the hut. Edit Hut

Revisited this hut 7/10/23 with Ad drove in on Saturday afternoon and had the hut to ourselves. Beautiful drive through Ohau station and Huxley Gorge

This is a great hut in a fantastic location. Really handy and you can drive right up to it.
