Notes
This was originally Spurs Hut when the area was farmed. Following tenure review it was returned to the Crown & the hut was renamed North Ophua Hut. In more recent times DOC has extensively refurbished the hut, including a small deck out front. Only the stone chimney remains from the original 1896 built 'Spurs Hut' & DOC have incorporated this into the refurbished hut. Edit Hut

Compact four-bunker in reasonable condition. The only wood around for the wood burner is willow. Toilet door has been reattached.
