Notes
Built in 2003, it replaced an older biv that was relocated to become the third Savlon Hut. Omahuru Hut is a DOC 'staff hut' intended for use by contractors & volunteers on the Urewera Mainland Island project. It maybe locked & there is signage stating the hut 'is not for public use'. The water tank & covered deck with picnic table is accessible even if hut is locked. It burnt down in suspicious circumstances circa December, 2022, despite a high court injunction order protecting it. Edit Hut
