Notes
Built by the NZFS in 1969, to support culling of deer, goats & possums. The exterior was painted orange. Members of Nga Tapuwae-O-Taneatua Tramping Club painted the hut in 1997. Extensively renovated with the addition of a large enclosed veranda in 2013 by DOC, plus a bbq table, thanks in part due to the popularity of mountain biking the Pakihi Track. Some of the photos show the hut before the work was completed, including the since removed, open fire. Edit Hut
