Built in 1940 by the Paua Tramping Club which was formed from the social club of Shell Oil employees. The club name came from the Shell Oil company barge called Paua. Declining membership saw the club merge with the Wellington Tramping & Mountaineering Club in 1962. It can be booked for $15 per night. Historically important, & one of only two club huts left in the valley. Edit Hut
