Notes
Built in 1958 by the NZFS, this S86 design, is recorded as hut #739 on the 1979 Hut Inventory list, but it bears NZFS hut tag #734 inside the biv. August, 2023, saw the biv extensively overhauled by three volunteers, led by Craig Benbow. They replaced the piles, bearers, some floor joists, various sections of framing, the building wrap, two sections of roofing flat iron & all the nails with hex head screws. Further flat-iron was added to the base of the chimney & kick-boards added around the base of the biv, which now sits higher off the ground to facilitate better air flow under it. Edit Hut

Follow Fenwick Stream until a gorge, where the track starts on the TR of the stream. In November 2023, the track was in very good condition

Fantastic, Paul! Lovely to think of your being up there. We'll be back to do more track work and enjoy what you've acheived.
