Built by the NZFS in the 1960's as a S70 6-bunk design with an open fire and an alcove area outside the door. It was NZFS hut #515. The louvre windows were replaced with aluminium ones & the open fire replaced by a woodburner in 2009. Edit Hut

Really beautiful location. Coming from Middy, there’s 2 swing bridges in sight of Roebuck to actually reach hut.

Old track from Roebuck Hut goes up to Conical knob. I suspect we came down here on a circuit from Mt Fell.
