Built in April, 1959, by the NZFS as a standard S81 4-bunk design with an open fire, it is lined with its orignal tar paper. There is an open wood box/ cupboard type alcove outside of the door. The DOC website lists the hut as 'historic'. Edit Hut

Nice hut, good fire, cute little stream nearby, chill 5 min walk from road, walked 30min towards Parks Peak Hut for THE Rocky Knoll, quite the heart-pulsing walk but nice views and rocks :)
