Notes
Built in approx. 1964 to assist NZFS shooters in culling goats. The hut book, which starts in Jan., 1983, shows high use by NZFS & DOC until 1990, then only 2-4 parties per year up to the present day (2018). The hut sits on what was once Wyuna Station. It is unique as once the subfloor & floor were built, it changed to Dexion framing with pinex attached, & then flat galv. sheets. The roof is corrugated iron but with exceptionally long unsupported eaves & the bunks are 1300mm wide. Mar., 2019 saw 5 volunteers led by Mike Lagan, replace the roof, ridge capping, barge flashings, internal ply, framing, hearth, bench, shelves, some joists, some T&G floorboards, & re-boxed & poured the fire place. Permission is required from Ben Lomond Station to cross private land. Edit Hut
