Built in December, 1965 by Peter Stainbridge (carpenter) & Phil Tucker. At some stage the open fire was replaced with a wood burner, a covered deck added, & the door shifted from the gable-wall end. Edit Hut

New fireplace has been installed. Tracks in and out quite overgrown and require somewhat navigation and scrub bashing. If heading here for the first time expect longer travel time than the old signs inform. And yes, you come across mostly the old red and white NZFS signs, not the DOC ones...
