Notes
Built to replace the NZFS's 'Te Waiti Hut (old)' which burnt down in 1983-84. It was replaced by two huts joined together with a large enclosed porch attached. These two huts had been put in the Mangatutara Stream in the late 1970's, when a second investigation was undertaken regarding the feasibility of damming the Motu River. Half of the hut was 'Dank Hut', which was used after the hydro-teams, by goat cullers, before being helicoptered to the Te Waiti valley. Edit Hut
