Notes
Built by the NZFS in 1963 as a 4-bunk hut to replace the previous hut on the same site, see 'Top Hope Hut (old)'. This hut was extended with an extra room with 2 more bunks and woodburner replacing the open fire in 1975. The hut was repainted by volunteers in 2016. Completely renovated in March, 2019, in a joint project between DOC & the Auckland Baptist Tramping Club, who were celebrating 40 years with 40 days of backcountry volunteer work. Edit Hut
