Built in 1971 by Tony Newton & Mario Geremia of the NZFS in Hokitika. It was the first of the new-generation B142 high-stud design biv's. The biv was repainted, some buckled interior lining replaced, the door rebuilt and the south windows louvres replaced by DOC in 2008. Late March, 2023, saw the biv overhauled by Al Ritchie, Ollie Clifton & Andrew Buglass, under the Jobs for Nature programme. Work included the addition of a tank stand, water tank, guttering, new roof, new windows, & the addition of deadman’s tie downs. It is lined, cosy, & very light inside with two sets of windows.
