Built in 1960, it was originally a NZFS hut called ’Poulter Hut’. There was a Arthur's Pass 'Park Board' hut known as ‘Trust Hut’ further downstream on the true right, between the original ‘Poulter Hut’ & the former Casey Hut (which was built at a later date). When the Arthur's Pass Park Board ‘Trust Hut’ no longer existed, the names of the two huts were merged resulting in the ‘Trust / Poulter Hut’. Edit Hut
