Flown-in, in 1999, from a few streams north (known locally as Enchanted Stream) to replace the larger Marlborough council-owned, catchment-board managed hut, which was taken out when the land ownership changed to DOC. The council-owned hut was replaced with this biv. Edit Hut
Tiny pine seedlings are growing around the biv. We didn't have time but it would be a good idea if someone cut them while they're little. There's a saw up there but secateurs would be easier.
This is a tiny doll's house-style accommodation. The door is 1600 mm high. Bunks are compact, with some gymnastics required to access. Woodburner is shoe-box size, but no shortage of wood around. Two inhabitants would need to be close friends. The single small louvre window has opaque blades. Made from sandwich panel. It's cute.
