Notes
Built in 1962. As of February, 2021, the butyl rubber & closed-cell form mats have been replaced by mattresses. The biv got a new paint job (Rescue Orange) from Craig Benbow from 7-11 March, 2017. Mid August, 2023, saw Ian & Liz Wightwick remove the woodshed from the side of the hut, which they then used to built a free-standing woodshed. Ian & Liz also installed slats to the bottom bunk. Craig Benbow is planning on doing more volunteer work to the biv to make it rodent proof & bring the biv 'up to scratch'. Edit Hut

There are cairns all the way up the creek. DOC markers from there.

The beginning of the access track is still washed out, and there is no marker visible from the creek indicating when to exit. If you have GPS, follow precisely the dotted line on the NZ Topo map
