Probably built by the NZFS in the 1960's, as a standard S70 6-bunk design with an open fire. In 2004, DOC painted the hut & felled some trees around the site to allow more light in. They repainted the hut in 2016. March, 2025, saw DOC undertake a historic restoration, including restoring the hut colour to orange & remedial work to the subfloor. It is a good example of a largely unmodified NZFS70 hut. In 2010, an uncut marked route was established to the hut. Edit Hut
