Erected in the mid 1960's by the Golden Bay Alpine & Tramping Club. It is sometimes referred to as Trident Hut or Trident Biv, after the nearby Trident Peak. It also has the name 'Stagger Inn' on the door. Early to mid 2024, DOC refurbished it, including lining the interior. Edit Hut

With the new bunks, bench, interior lining and exterior picnic table this is one of the best in the country.
