It has 2 bunks and the category of Backcountry Hut.This was the first of two huts located on Bonar Flats. It was built by carpenter, Cliff Peart, & Brian Conroy in 1965, on the bush edge, it unfortunately got no sun. It had beech-pole framing & flat iron walls, & was still in-situ, albeit dilapidated, in January, 2005. It was replaced in 1969 by 'Log Cabin (Bonar Flats Hut No. 2)' on the opposite side of the valley.Location:
