Built out of Totara slabs, it had an earth floor, & it was the first of three 'Central Te Hoe' huts in the vicinity. It was built by the NZFS circa mid 1950's & replaced in 1978-70, by ‘Central Te Hoe Hut No. 2’. Edit Hut
